Jelly Belly (JellyBelly.Com) Jelly Belly began its sweet shop adventures in 1869 when Gustav Goelitz started a candy business. His sons continued the tradition of candy making. Toward the
1940s, Jelly Belly started to offer mint wafers, and in the 60s spice drops, jellybeans, and candies like tangerine slices. In 1976, Jelly Belly brought out its breakthrough recipe for mini jellybeans with eight flavours including root beer and licorice, but the flavours grew to forty in the 1980s. The company name Goelitz was renamed Jelly Belly Candy Company in 2001. The website is user friendly. There is an online shop where you can buy the famous jellybeans.
